Open Steel Grid Bridge Flooring
Every project brings its own opportunities and challenges. That’s why we offer two main construction methods for our open steel grid flooring and decks: welded and riveted. Welded systems are lighter and have a greater span capacity than riveted systems. Open grid decks are the lightest decks commonly available for use as bridge decks, generally weighing between 15 and 35 psf.
Grid Reinforced Concrete Bridge Decking
Partially filled grid decking is a lighter weight alternative to full depth grid reinforced decks. Incorporating more steel and less concrete than full depth systems, its span capacities are near those of full depth systems. Partially filled grid systems with a 2″ monolithically poured concrete overfill commonly weigh in the 60 to 75 psf area. When finished flush with no overfill, weights in the 45 to 55 psf range can be expected.

For applications outside of public use that need to handle heavy loading conditions, our Welded Heavy Duty Steel Bar Grating products are the ideal solution. Airport drainage trench covers, loading docks, industrial flooring, heavy work platforms, utility trench covers, and highway drain grates are just a few ideal applications.
